Ok so you want to make your own palace? Trust me it takes a lot of time, energy and hard work. I'm not just saying that either...I mean I started to make my own not too long ago and realized I wasn't going to have enough time to balance that along with school, friends, my website and sports. So before you go to all the trouble of making your own palace, make sure you have enough TIME. Anyways once you've decided you are making a palace you need a server...you can download a server right here on this site. Just go to the downloads section and download a server. Then I suggest you go to http://www.dynip.com/ and download their 20 day trial hosting service...it's absolutely free for a month. When you want to begin working on your palace open your server (everytime you want to work on your palace or allow people to go on you must have the server and Palace open) Change the preferences on your server and find your ip number somewhere in the log on the server (the log is just a fancy name for the window where writing appears...and the ip number should look something like this...12.424.321.33) so copy your ip number and open up dynip. Paste the number where it's supposed to go...you'll find a text box to insert it into. Once all this is done you can begin working on your site adding in backgrounds, making rooms etc. Also make sure you save your backgrounds in c:\programfiles\communities.com\palaceserver\palace\media if their not saved in this folder your backgrounds will not show up...if you don't know how to save it in this directory here's a walk through of how to do it...go to C: drive, open up program files, then communities.com...you should see two folder, the palace and the palace server...double click the palace server, then click on palace and then media...save your backgrounds here.
Well good luck and let me know how your palace is going once you get started!
