What is Hostkeeper?
-Hostkeeper is a palace server plugin that allows you to choose what server commands Gusts, Members, and Wizards are allowed to use. God's are exempt. So this means you can make groups like Hosts or Helpers and you can limit what commands they can use.

Do I still need GateKeeper if I have Hostkeeper?
-Yes you should still keep Gatekeeper because God's are exempt from Hostkeeper and if anyone gets your God password they could gain control of the server.

Some of my wizards can't use any commands, what's wrong?
-All wizards have to belong to a group. God's are the only ones who's commands aren't controlled. All your normal wizards should be blessed into the default wizard group that came with the plugin.

What if I have assistant Gods and I want to limit the commands they can use?
-You can use the servers built in ranking system and re rank the God commands you want your assistant's to use to wizard rank (ex. `setrank `flushprops 2) then make a new group in the hostkeeper.group file an include all the wizard commands and add the reranked god commands then bless that user into that hostkeeper group and have them log in with the wizard password from then on and they will be the only wizards allowed to use the reranked commands.

Is there an easier way to add all my wizards to Hostkeeper without them having to log on to be blessed?
-If you use the GateKeeper plugin you can copy that file and convert it manually. Download your gatekeeper.dat file and rename it to hostkeeper.bless then edit the file following the example below. The server must be shutdown when you upload the new hostkeeper.bless file.

This is an example how to convert a gatekeeper.dat file to a hostkeeper.bless file.

Download your gatekeeper.dat file and load it into whatever you use to edit your .pat files.
The format should look like this.

Add the group name you want each wizard to belong to between there code and name.

Once you are done save the file as hostkeeper.bless then upload it and start your server.



This is an example of my hostkeeper.group file.
I loaded hostkeeper.so first in my plugins.conf so that all the other plugin commands will be controlled by hostkeeper.
I added the PlugAll member room commands to commands and the member group.

Please note, the above configuration only gives wizards limited commands, many default wizard privileges like authoring, global messaging, and some other commands are not included.
